Something wicked this way comes.
This is the final week of this cycle. Wednesday will be the final deload then we’ll test on Friday. I’m working on two options for the push press test. Since technically speaking we’ve been trying to develop top-end strength to enhance the Oly lifts, I see no reason to attempt a 1RM push press… unless you just absolutely want to. Instead, I feel a better measuring-stick would be to find your new 1RM Jerk from blocks… or you can skip all of the OH altogether and just test your squat. However you do it, take Thursday as a rest day, then crush your former PR Friday. I’m excited at the possibility of FINALLY getting that 400# HBBS. We’ll be entering into a new cycle more focussed on work capacity and conditioning next week. Things should start looking “normal” again with Oly lifts at our core and our usual squatting and accessories 1-2/week. I’m ready to shed some weight for summer fun in the sun.
